Spatial Biology: Akoya-based

Spatial biology research examines the presence and positioning of cells within tissue, their co-expression patterns of biomarkers, and the ways in which they arrange and interact to impact the tissue microenvironment. Investigating cells within their specific contexts can lead to the discovery of new and unique biological knowledge.

Authentic spatial biology studies employ whole-slide imaging at the level of single cells to both visualize and quantify the expression of biomarkers, uncovering insights into how cells interact and organize themselves across the complete tissue landscape. This methodology is referred to as spatial phenotyping
